Community Benefit Fund

Lal Lal Wind Farms aims to support initiatives that strengthen the local community.  The Community Benefit Fund,  has been established to provide grants for projects that benefit communities located within 5 km of the wind farm. This includes Lal Lal, Yendon, Elaine, Cargerie, Clarendon, Bungaree, Dunnstown , Mt Doran and Millbrook. Funding can be provided for local sporting groups, community groups, education, culture and arts initiatives or other community needs.

Applications for funding are assessed by the Lal Lal Wind Farms Community Reference Group, with final funding decisions endorsed by the Lal Lal Wind Farms board. Applications are administered once a year.  A link to the Community Fund Guidelines can be found here.

Applications for 2019 are now open and close on 19 June 2019 at 5:00pm.

First Round of Community Benefit Funding, 2017

A number of applications were received in 2017. Those selected for funding include:

  • Bungaree Recreation Reserve – which will receive support for the completion of the storage shed project
  • Mt Buninyong CFA – which will receive support to purchase a generator and trailer
  • Elaine Cricket Club – which will receive support to improve ground facilities
  • Dunnstown Netball Club – which will receive support to replace an existing netball court fence

Second Round of Community Benefit Funding, 2018

Congratulations to the community groups listed below, that have been allocated funds for 2018, 14 applications were received in total. We look forward to hearing more about the progress and completion of these projects.

Community Reference Group

The Lal Lal Wind Farms Community Reference Group meets monthly at the Bungaree Recreation Reserve, Bungaree-Wallace Road, Bungaree.
